Beckett Signs 4-Year Extension
The Red Sox and Yankees will resume their series on Tuesday night at Fenway Park. The Red Sox used the off day to announce a contract extension for ace Josh Beckett. The new deal is worth $68 million over four years. According to Sports Illustrated's Jon Heyman, the contract includes a very limited no trade clause with only three teams that he can be traded to. Two of the teams are believed to have been chosen by Beckett. Beckett started Sunday's opener and gave up 5 runs over 4 2/3 innings.
