Beckett, Red Sox Look To Close Out Home Stand With Win
BOSTON (CBS) – The Boston Red Sox look to make it three straight when they close out their 11-game home stand against the Twins on Monday.
Josh Beckett (2-1, 2.35 ERA) will get the start, looking for his first win in four outings. Beckett has pitched well since April 24 when he last got a win, but has not factored in on the decision the last three times out. In that span, Beckett has only allowed six runs off 11 hits over 18.1 innings pitched.
The Sox offense will look to build off a 9-5 win over the Twins on Sunday. Jacoby Ellsbury extending his hitting streak to 17-games, the longest current streak in the Majors, with a 3-for-5 Mother's Day showing. Ellsbury is hitting .378 during the streak with 10 doubles and 15 stolen bases.

First baseman Adrian Gonzalez has also been swinging the bat well, hitting a home run in three of his last six games. Gonzalez drove in two more runs on Sunday, upping his team-leading total to 24. He has driven in nine runs in May.
Dustin Pedroia continues to slump for the Red Sox, going just eight for his last 61 over the past 15 games. Pedroia is batting just .135 in the last nine games with 10 strikeouts.

The good news for Pedroia, he is 4-for-10 career against the Twins Monday night starter Nick Blackburn.
The Red Sox are 5-5 on the current home stand, and after Monday head to Toronto for two games with the Blue Jays before going to New York for a weekend series with the Yankees.
