Beckett Lands On Disabled List
After leaving Tuesday night's game against the Yankees in the 5th inning, Red Sox pitcher Josh Beckett has been placed on the disabled list with a lower back strain. Joe Nelson has been called up from Pawtucket to take his place on the Roster. Tim Wakefield will now take Beckett's next turn on Sunday against the Philadelphia Phillies. Beckett is 1-1 in 8 starts this season with a 7.29 ERA.
