Bearded Bandit Suspect Held On $300,000 Cash Bail

SEEKONK (CBS/AP) — A suspect believed to be the man dubbed the "Bearded Bandit" after a series of bank robberies in Rhode Island and Massachusetts has been ordered held on $300,000 cash bail.

Justin Worley was taken into custody at a Massachusetts motel on Wednesday.

Authorities say the 33-year-old Worley, and a fake beard, were found at the Motel 6 in Seekonk at about 2 p.m. Wednesday.  Sources say they were able to identify Worley as the Bearded Bandit by matching certain distinguishing marks between him and surveillance photos.

Police spotted two vehicles linked to some of the robberies at the motel. Several police departments and the FBI were involved in the arrest.

Police say there have been at least eight robberies linked to the "Bearded Bandit" since February, the last occurring Tuesday at a Pawtucket Credit Union branch in East Providence.
