BC Board Member Resigns Amid Criticism Of Role In Child Sex Abuse Case
BOSTON (CBS) - A prominent member of the Boston College Board of Trustees has submitted his resignation after revelations that he took no action against a priest accused of child sex abuse while under his supervision in Chicago in the 1990's.

Rev. Bradley M. Schaeffer's resignation was announced Thursday.
"Brad has stated in the past that he regrets not having been able to do more," said Dunn.
Several activists, including Paul Kendrick of the Ignatius Group, gathered at the BC gates to demand the resignation.
"This was an obvious step and it does amaze us that Boston College didn't demand it immediately, but it's good to have it certainly," said Kendrick.
The abusive priest at the center of the controversy is now serving 25 years in federal prison.
