Bartkowski, Paille Hit Ice At Bruins' Optional Practice
BOSTON (CBS) -- The Boston Bruins are off to Detroit for Games 3 and 4 of their first round playoff series against the Red Wings, and head coach Claude Julien said all of his players are making the trip.
That includes Daniel Paille (head), Chris Kelly (back) and Matt Bartkowski (flu), who have yet to play in in the series.
Bartkowski hit the ice for the first time since being sidelined last week with the illness, as Boston held a no-contact, optional skate at the TD Garden Monday morning. Paille, who has been out since the final regular season game, was also on the ice again after returning to practice on Friday.
Julien said he would like to get Bartkowski and Paille into a practice with some contact before they make a return to game action.
Other Bruins who skated on Monday included forwards Shawn Thornton and Jordan Caron, defensemen Torey Krug and Kevan Miller and backup goaltender Chad Johnson. Defensemen Dennis Seidenberg (knee) and Adam McQuaid (quad) also skated, but are unlikely to play anytime soon.
The Bruins and Red Wings are all tied up at a game apiece following Boston's 4-1 win in Game 2 on Sunday. Games 3 and 4 will be played in Detroit's Joe Louis Arena on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively.
