Baristas Compete In Boston For National 'Brewers Cup'
BOSTON (CBS) - Would you drink a cup of bacon coffee? Maybe a seaweed latte is more your style?
Whatever you like, baristas from across the country are brewing a whole lot of coffee in South Boston.
One of the highlights of the annual coffee expo taking place at the convention center is the United States Barista Competition, pitting master coffee makers from all over the country against each other.

Compared to "Iron Chef," baristas are tasked with making four espressos, four cappuccinos and four signature drinks in just 15 minutes.
Frank McGinty is the master of ceremonies for the competition.
"Bacon lattes, seaweed lattes, we just had one gentleman use a whiskey still to distill coffee," he said.
Judges score the baristas on milk to espresso ratio, creativity and synergy of the drink. They also look for baristas with great "stage presence" and attention to detail.
Those competing in the U.S. Barista Competition have already won regional competitions held throughout the country during the year.
