Bad Driving Reported Via A New iPhone App
BOSTON (CBS) -- Between drivers who won't use their signals and others who cut you off, the list is endless when it comes to bad driving behavior.
Usually, we are left to mutter our frustration to ourselves. Now, there's a new way to vent.
The free iPhone app "Drive Me Crazy" was developed by Philipe Ingelbrecht to hold bad drivers accountable. "Calling them out in public so they know they should behave a little better on the road," he said.
The first step is to download the app to an iPhone.
WBZ-TV's Paula Ebben reports.
When you want create a post, you start by saying or typing the offenders license plate.
You leave a virtual ticket, by typing a post or leaving a voice message.
The message then appears on the app's site for all to see, including parents, police, and insurance companies.
Privacy advocates like Rebecca Jeschke of the Electronic Frontier Foundation aren't sure this is such a great idea. "It's a pretty complete picture of where you go, and what you do, and lots of people would want access to that information."
So far, 20.000 posts have been created on "Drive Me Crazy."
It's also possible to compliment a good driver, or even flirt. The site's owner says they review posts for inappropriate or malicious comments.
