Autopsies Conducted In N.H. YWCA Murder-Suicide
MANCHESTER, N.H. (CBS) -- Autopsies have been completed on a Manchester man and his 9-year-old son who died Sunday in a shooting incident at the city's YWCA, law enforcement officials said.
In a prepared statement Monday, N.H. Attorney General Joseph Foster and Manchester Police Chief David Mara called the deaths of Muni Savyon, 54, of Manchester, and Joshua Savyon, 9, of Amherst, a murder-suicide.
In the autopsies, state Deputy Chief Medical Examiner Jennie Duval determined Joshua Savyon died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds and his manner of death was ruled homicide, Foster and Mara said. Muni Savyon, who is considered the perpetrator in the incident, died as a result of a single self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, and his manner of death was ruled suicide, Foster and Mara said.
Muni Savyon opened fire in the Family Visitation Center at the YWCA on Sunday morning during a supervised meeting with his son, according to law enforcement officials.
The incident remains under investigation.
