Lowell Teen Shot, Killed In Derry, NH
DERRY, N.H. (CBS) -- State and local police are investigating the shooting death of a 17 year old male in Derry, New Hampshire.
Friends identify the victim as Cole Kinney of Lowell and say he went to North Shore Road Wednesday night to meet up with someone he didn't know very well. What led to the killing is unclear as investigators will only say the attack was not random and multiple people were involved.
No arrests have been made.
Friends gathered at the crime scene dropping flowers and spray painting messages on the road. "I've never seen any negativity from him," said one friend who did not want to be identified. "He was a really good friend and this was so unexpected."
Kinney, an avid boxer, would have been a senior at Greater Lowell Vocational Technical High School. Hundreds of people gathered to mourn Kinney's death in Lowell Thursday night.

"Everybody loved him," Cole's best friend Nick Silva said. "He was just such a good person."
"Cole was an incredible, wonderful kid. He's my grandson. He's going to be very much missed," said Evelyn White. "(He was) in the wrong place, at the wrong time. This never should have happened."
Joey Ramalho coached the accomplished boxer for years and he was more of a son than student.
"He's always been such a good kid," Ramalho said. "I don't know what could have gone wrong."
"He was one of the wisest kids I've ever known," Silva said. "The way he looked at life was amazing. He would literally enjoy the moment."
