Authorities Identify Boston Man Killed In Roxbury Shooting
BOSTON (CBS) -- Authorities have identified the Boston man fatally shot in Roxbury on Thursday as 22-year-old Raheem Ramirez.
The shooting occurred at about 11:08 p.m. in the area of Greenville Street.
Officers found two men shot at the scene. They were both taken to area hospitals.
Ramirez was later pronounced dead, while the other victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Two suspects, both men, were seen leaving the scene on a motor scooter, police say.
Youth Violence Strike Force officers allegedly spotted the men riding through the area of Dudley and Shirley Streets around 11:15 p.m.
After a brief pursuit, police took both men into custody.
Elijah Small, 19, of Norwood, and Lamar Brison, 24, of Dorchester, were arrested.
Small is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition without an FID card and carrying a loaded firearm.
Brison, who was operating the motor scooter, police say, is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition without an FID card, carrying a loaded firearm, witness interference, obstruction of justice, refusal to submit, operating to endanger and operating with a suspended license.
Police say they also recovered a firearm during the foot chase.
It is not known at this time if both suspects were directly involved in the shooting on Greenville Street.
Both men are scheduled to appear in Roxbury District Court in the future.
The Boston Police Homicide Unit is still investigating the incident.
