Attleboro Native Represents U.S. In World Cup
ATTLEBORO (CBS) - He's been playing soccer since he was five years old, now 28-year-old Geoff Cameron of Attleboro will be playing on the biggest stage of his career as he represents the United States in the World Cup. "This is the biggest sporting event in the world and he's going to represent U.S. tonight," Geoff's dad Scott Cameron said.
Geoff's parents Scott and Diane say ever since he was boy he's been obsessed with soccer. "He's fulfilling a dream he's had forever. We've watched him at every age level just grow. He has always worked so hard giving his heart and soul into everything he's done," Diane Cameron said.

Geoff's team warmed up earlier Monday in Brazil as they get ready to take on team Ghana. As one of the nations top defenders he knows the stakes are high.
"For me it's just focus on self, team and as long as we do our job, the skies the limit," Geoff said during practice.
Scott Cameron, who is Geoff's primary coach growing up and is still his coach to this day, says part of their pregame ritual is a phone call. "It will last about 30 seconds. I will just remind him he prepared well, time to go out and have fun," Scott said.
The entire family and close friends will be watching it together in their hometown where it all started for Geoff. "I get goos bumps every time I watch him. I hope they do a great job and win. Either way we are proud of him," Diane Cameron said.
