Arroyo Takes Court For First Time With Celtics
WALTHAM (CBS) - Carlos Arroyo practiced with the Celtics for the first time Tuesday, and hopes his time in Boston will go better than his time in Miami.
"It was just too much at times, media everywhere, fans everywhere," Arroyo said of his time with Lebron James and Co. "It was like a lot of people say, 'being the beatles.' I'm just happy to be here."
Arroyo, a eight-year veteran, provides the Celtics with a true backup point guard. He started 42 games for the Heat this season before being relegated to the bench. He was released by Miami when they decided to sign free agent Mike Bibby.
"It's been a rollercoaster," Arroyo said of his season. "I'm truly excited to start a new career here in Boston. I feel it's a great opportunity for me and my career. I'll do whatever's possible to help the team win, whatever the coach needs me to do out there."

Now Arroyo has 21 games to learn a new system, and try to help a different team make a championship run. The Celtics are not too worried about him picking things up though.

"He played against us in two playoff series, he should know some of our stuff. That's the way we look at it," coach Doc Rivers said. "But he's a point guard, been a point guard all his life. So I think some of the stuff, he'll pick up pretty quickly. All the nuances of things, that'll just take time."
Arroyo also said it would not matter to him if the Celtics do not have to go through the Heat in order to win the franchise's 18th championship.
"I would love to win a championship overall, no matter who we beat," Arroyo said. "I think this is the right team and the right guys to do it. I love the chemistry they have on and off the court. They have what everyone wants to have, that chemistry and togetherness."
When asked if he expected any crying in his new locker room, Arroyo smirked and gave a "no comment."
