Tewksbury Man Charged In Connection With Girlfriend's Death Has Extensive Criminal Record
TEWKSBURY (CBS) – Family members say the woman found dead in a Tewksbury apartment was the victim of domestic violence. Jennifer Kalicki's boyfriend, Eric Griffin, is charged with abusing the 39-year-old.
Griffin was arraigned on Monday in Lowell District Court on a charge of assault and battery on a household or family member.
Tewksbury Police were called to an Archstone Ave. apartment Sunday and found Kalicki dead inside. Kalicki's mother, Kathy Gadd, told WBZ-TV she hadn't heard from her daughter since Friday.
"They had a fight and that she lost," Gadd said.
Police say Griffin assaulted Kalicki Friday night into Saturday morning.
Prosecutors said in court that Griffin was released from Billerica House of Corrections on September 11 and has an extensive criminal record.
Court paperwork reveals that Griffin had two prior restraining orders, a pending domestic violence case against Kalicki that was dismissed on September 9, and numerous violations of his probation.
Text messages included in the police report show Kalicki pleading for help, saying Griffin was "losing it."
"I just need help," one message read.
Griffin pleaded not guilty and was ordered held without bail pending a hearing on Friday.
Gadd said her daughter was afraid of Griffin. "There's no two ways about it," Gadd said. "I want them to give the most that they can give him."
