READING (CBS) – A Revere man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Joseph Ronan in Reading.

John Burke, 25, of Revere, was arrested early Sunday morning on charges of first degree murder and illegal possession of a firearm. Burke was taken into custody at his father's home on Glenmere Circle in Reading. He will be arraigned Monday morning.

"We allege that this defendant intentionally and purposefully shot the victim numerous times with the intent to kill him over what appears to be a drug related dispute," District Attorney Gerald Leone said. "I commend the cooperative work of the Massachusetts State Police and the Reading Police Department in collaboration with the Middlesex District Attorney's Office for their exhaustive investigation that led to today's arrest."
