Police Hope 'Big Gulp' Cup Will Help Solve $10,000 Heist
ARLINGTON (CBS) - Police in Arlington are hoping a 7-Eleven 'Big Gulp' can help them catch a burglar who stole more than $10,000 worth of electronics and jewelry.
The thief broke into an apartment on Fairmont Street sometime during the day on Monday and took
an iPad, Mac book, two Dell laptops, iPod, watches, camera, diamond jewelry, pearl jewelry, and white gold jewelry.
Police believe that person climbed through a window next to the front door.
The tenant arrived home around 6:30 p.m. and immediately called police.
Officers who responded to the home found a "Big Gulp" cup inside the apartment. The woman who lives there told them that the cup was not there when she left in the morning and that it did not belong to her.
Investigators are planning to take finger prints from the cup. They're also going to visit nearby 7-Elevens to see if there may be any surveillance video of anyone who bought a Big Gulp on Monday.
