Apponequet High School Briefly Put In Lockdown
LAKEVILLE (CBS) - Apponequet Regional High School was put into lockdown mode Thursday morning because of a reported threat.
Lakeville and Freetown police officers were called to the school around 8 a.m.
"It was determined there was no immediate threat to students and faculty and the lockdown was terminated." Lakeville Police spokesperson Valerie Bartholomew said in an email.
Schools superintendent John McCarthy told WBZ-TV a parent called his office before 8 a.m. and said a male who had graduated from the school was having a conflict with her son and may be heading to the campus.
The woman's son was not at the school at the time of the call. As a precaution, school officials called police.
McCarthy said they found the person and the lockdown ended at 8:15 a.m.
There are no charges at this point in the investigation.
