Apple Music Launches Streaming Service Tuesday
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS) -- Apple is entering the music streaming business on Tuesday.
The Apple Music streaming service will debut at 11 a.m. as part of a software update.
A free trial lets users listen for three months, but then they will be charged a $9.99 monthly fee. A family rate is also available for $14.99 a month.
Apple says it will stream more than 30 million songs, and the playlists are selected by real people instead of computers.
The technology giant will be competing in a crowded field of streaming services that include Spotify, Pandora and the newly released Tidal.
Apple Music is available on the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac or PC.
