Fantasy Football: A Few Sleepers & Advice On Drafting A Quarterback
BOSTON (CBS) -- With the regular season just around the corner, football fans are also gearing up for their fantasy drafts.
CBS Fantasy Football expert Dave Richard joined Toucher & Rich on Thursday for his weekly call into the show, and offered up some advice for owners who are studying hard hoping to have a successful season.
Here's some of the advice he offered up on Thursday:
- Asked for a sleeper pick, Richard recommends Arizona receiver John Brown.
"[It's] is the name I keep seeing falling and falling in drafts, and I think he has a chance to be Arizona's most productive receiver by the end of the year," said Richard.
- If you draft Denver running back C.J. Anderson, who he says is worthy of a first-round pick, make sure you back him up. Consider Ronnie Hillman later in the draft.
- He's high on Green Bay receiver Davante Adams, who he thinks will have 1,000 receiving yards and six touchdowns with Jordy Nelson on the shelf.
- Detroit running back Joique Bell still hasn't practiced, so Ameer Abdullah is climbing up the draft boards. Richard says the rookie out of Nebraska should end up getting the majority of the carries, so be cautious of Bell.
- Andrew Luck and Aaron Rogers are his top two quarterbacks this season, but he says neither are worthy of a first round pick. He advises owners to wait until the middle rounds to find their QB.
- A sleeper at defense? The Miami Dolphins, who should get to the quarterback quite often this season.
