Anonymous Foundation Matching NH Food Bank Donations
MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — An anonymous private foundation is matching donations up to $75,000 to the New Hampshire Food Bank this holiday season.
The food bank says the anonymous donation match is giving it the opportunity to raise $150,000, which would provide 300,000 meals.
Officials say one in nine people are food in secure, including more than 44,000 children.
Mel Gosselin, the food bank's executive director, says at this time of year, many of people are faced with the difficult choice of paying for food or paying for heat, "a choice that no one should have to make." Gosselin says the matching donation will have an incredible impact for those who need it most this holiday season.
