And...The Warm-Up Begins

It's here!

The 2-day warm-up that we've been 'selling' you since this past weekend.

Check: Current Conditions | Weather Map Center | Interactive Radar

Today, we are starting with temperatures in the 20s and 30s, but with the current sun angle, full-blown sunshine trhoughout the day, and breezy southwest winds, temperatures will rapidly climb into the middle and upper 50s by late-afternoon.

At 4:41 a.m., the Full 'Worm' Moon will be decorating the sky.

The second day will be even warmer where we may tie or beat the record of 67 degrees set back in 1995.

Thursday will be sunny, windy, and very warm with highs in the middle 60s!

Then, clouds will roll in during the evening hours as a strong ridge aloft and surface high lose their grip enabling a cold front to near southern New England.

The cold front moves in and out between 8 p.m. Thursday through 8 a.m. Friday.

This will be the culprit for a line of showers that will move through during that time period.

Then, skies will be partly cloudy with a few afternoon flurries possible far north and west as a 500H trough swings by.

Highs will be reached early in the morning before the cold front shifts the winds to the west-northwest.

Temperatures will remain stagnant or even drop slightly throughout the day in the middle 40s.  Winds will also be breezy adding a little chill to the air.

This weekend

It will begin on a cool note, while the 50s make a comeback on Sunday.

Saturday will be a bright, sunshiny day, but high temperatures will only be hovering around 40.

Then, milder air heads this way on Sunday as highs return to the middle 50s alongside mostly sunny skies.

Mild temperatures and a chance of showers will kick-start next week.

Reminder:

Daylight Saving Time begins @ 2 a.m. this Sunday, which will push sunset back to 6:47 p.m.
