And...The Saga Begins

It's the last full day of Summer! Are you ready for Autumn?!?!

Rain will be scattered this morning followed by a more widely scattered pattern this afternoon. There is even the chance for a few bright spots in the sky later today. Highs will stick in the lower to middle 70s.  Tonight is showing limited moisture, but we can't rule out a few showers while we are sleeping. Then, the steadiest and heaviest rain on Friday is showing up during the afternoon and evening.  Highs will be back in the lower 70s.

1st Weekend of Autumn:  The best chance of showers still appears to be Saturday.  On an optimistic and bright note, I do think we will have plenty of dry times throughout the latter half of the day as the conveyor belt of moisture starts to cut-off due to some ridging aloft.   Sunday is still my pick day of the weekend. I think we can manage to squeeze out a mostly dry day. Highs will be in the 70s both days.

The upper level low that is cutoff near the Great Lakes/Midwest will finally begin to weaken and be carried away by the jetstream Wednesday/Thursday of next week. Consequently, we will have a chance of occasional showers through midweek.

Atlantic Tropical Update:   T.S. Ophelia is tracking westward at 14mph and maximum sustained winds reaching 65mph.

Melissa :)
