And, The Pattern Continues...

We are going to be stuck in this dreary pattern for the next few days. However, some periods of sunshine can be expected starting tomorrow.

A trough stationed across the Eastern U.S. will usher in surface low pressure systems from the south.  Additionally, a cold front appraoching from the Great Lakes Region is having a tough time making eastward progress as an area of high pressure to the East is hindering it from doing so.  An east-northeast wind will keep the low clousd, fog, and drizzle near the coast today. Highs will be in the 60-65F range near the coast to 65-70F farther away fom the shoreline.

Wednesday will provide us with a hint of sunshine along with the clouds that hang around. There will also be a chance of a few afternoon showers and storms, especially north and west of Boston. Highs will be slightly milder in the middle 70s, cooler at the coast.

Thursday will also include a partly cloudy to partly sunny sky along with  a slight chance of an afternoon storm, mainly north and west of Boston.  High temperatures will be warmest inland as thermometers read 75-80F, while the coastline will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s.

Friday will be partly cloudy with a very slim chance of an afternoon spot storm. Otherwise, it will be near 80F away from the coast, while the coastal communities will remain in the 70-75F range.

Memorial Day Weekend: It never ceases to amaze me that during those Holidays (i.e. Memorial day), when weather conditions really matters, that mother nature makes forecasting a challenge.  As a warm/stationary front is pushing northward, I am introducing a chance of storms Friday night as well as Saturday afternoon. After that, it looks like there will be enough ridging at the 500H to create a rain barrier for Southern New England.  The end result would mean dry and very wamr conditions for our viewing area. Northern New England looks like it's going to have the highest risk for showers and storms throughout the entire Holiday weekend.  If this pattern sets up, it will be a hot Holiday weekend with temps in the 80s.
