AND...The Heat Wave Begins

Today is the beginning of a heat wave!

It will be a  4-day stretch of hazy, hot, and humid days.

The National Weather Service has already issued an Excessive Heat Watch for our viewing area on Thursday and Friday.

Check: Interactive Radar | Current Conditions | Weather Map Center

The sun will be shining today with high temperatures reaching the 90F degree mark in most backyards... around the middle 80s on the Cape/Islands.

Watch Melissa's forecast:

Extreme heat can be expected on Thursday and Friday.

Highs will range between 95-100F along with dewpoints in the 70s.

This combo will spike the heat indices higher than 100 degrees!

There will be a slight risk of storms late-day Friday, but most of the action will stay across northern and western New England. An upper level ridge is acting as our 'protector.'

This Weekend:

Highs will remain in the 90s on Saturday before feeling some relief on Sunday with highs in the middle 80s.

There is a very slight chance of a late-day storm on Saturday.  Otherwise, we can plan for a mainly dry weekend.

T.S. Bret update:  50 mph max. sustained winds...moving NE @ 7mph.

Stay Cool!  Be safe!

Melissa :)
