Amtrak Service Resumes Between Boston & New York
BOSTON (CBS) - Amtrak service between Boston and New York resumed Sunday afternoon after a freight train derailment shut down service earlier in the day.
The first northbound departure scheduled from New York Penn Station was train 194 at 5 p.m. The first southbound departure from Boston South Station was train 2259 scheduled for 4:10 p.m.
The train came off the tracks near New Haven, Conn. Sunday morning and blocked the Amtrak tracks, according to Amtrak.
Amtrak says there will be residual delays.
Passengers who have paid but choose not to travel due to disruption can receive a refund or a voucher for future travel.
