Allen Seals the Deal
Boston Celtics guard Ray Allen says his presence was wanted in Miami but his heart told him Boston.
Allen, who agreed to a two-year, 20-million dollar contract last week with the Celtics, affixed his John Hancock to the deal on Tuesday. He tells WBZ Radio Sports that it was always his intention to stay put but once July 1 came around, the calls from other teams, or players, came fast and furious.
"You start envisioning what it would be like to wear that other uniform and play in the city you've visited as an opponent," Allen told a gathering of media at the Celtics practice facility in Waltham. "But it was always my intention to stay here."
