All Things Travel: Southwest Airlines Builds Presence At Logan
BOSTON (CBS) - Southwest Airlines continues to slowly build its presence at Logan Airport.
Their latest move is to start one flight a day from Boston to Nashville.
However, the airline has cancelled its Boston-to-Phoenix flight and has also curtailed trips to Philadelphia.
Southwest's marketing program has been built around flights from Boston, Manchester, N.H. and Providence, R.I.
In late November, they will face their first major competition on flights from Providence to Florida when JetBlue begins service to Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale from T.F. Green Airport in Warwick, Rhode Island.
Earlier this year, the MBTA began increased rail service from Boston to T.F. Green on the Providence/Stoughton rail line.
