Former Nickelodeon Star To Portray Boston Marathon Bomber In Movie

BOSTON (CBS) – The upcoming movie about the Boston Marathon bombings has cast the two bombers.

Alex Wolff, an 18-year-old known for his starring role in Nickelodeon's "The Naked Brothers Band," will play Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in "Patriots Day."

Hollywood newcomer Themo Melikidze has been chosen to portray Tamerlan Tsarnaev.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was sentenced to death last year for his role in the bombings that killed three people and injured more than 260. His brother, Tamerlan, was killed in the manhunt that followed the terrorist attack.

It was also announced this week that former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick will be played by Michael Beach, an actor from Roxbury.

Mark Wahlberg, John Goodman, Kevin Bacon and J.K. Simmons are just some of the big names that have already been cast.

The movie is set to premiere in December.
