AC/DC bringing concert tour to Gillette Stadium in 2025
FOXBORO - AC/DC will shake Gillette Stadium all night long next year. The Australian rock band announced Monday that its North American "Power Up Tour 2025" is coming to Foxboro, Massachusetts on May 4.
It's the first United States tour in nine years for the "Highway To Hell" performers. The band last came to Gillette in 2015, playing hits like "For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)" and "Hells Bells."
AC/DC Gillette Stadium tickets
Tickets go on sale Friday at noon on the AC/DC website. There's no word yet about how much tickets will cost.
The tour kicks off in Minneapolis and also makes stops at the Rose Bowl in California, Pittsburgh and Chicago.
AC/DC has sold more than 200 million albums since the band's formation in 1973, including the acclaimed "Back in Black" album released after the sudden death of vocalist Bon Scott.
The band currently features Angus Young on lead guitar, Brian Johnson on vocals, rhythm guitarist Stevie Young, drummer Matt Laug and Chris Chaney on bass. Guitarist and AC/DC co-founder Malcolm Young died at 64 years old in 2017 after battling dementia.
Gillette Stadium concerts 2025
AC/DC is one of three big concerts scheduled for 2025 at Gillette. Post Malone is playing Foxboro with Jelly Roll on May 31, and Coldplay has announced two concerts at the stadium for July 15 and July 16 with a special "mystery guest" as part of the band's Music of the Spheres world tour.
Boston's Fenway Park is also starting to announce summer concert dates, with Shakira set to play on May 29 and My Chemical Romance set for Sept. 7.
