Accused Wayland Teen Killer Pleads Not Guilty

WOBURN (CBS/AP) - A Wayland teenager accused of killing his ex-girlfriend and disposing of her body in a marshy area of town pleaded not guilty Tuesday.

Nathaniel Fujita was arraigned in Middlesex Superior Court in Woburn on several charges including murder.

Prosecutors say the 18-year-old Fujita strangled and sliced the neck of 18-year-old Lauren Astley on July 3. Both graduated from high school in June.

The couple had dated for several years but had recently split.

Fujita is still being held without bail after pleading not guilty at his district court arraignment earlier this summer.

Astley was last seen at work on July 3.

Her body was found by a cyclist several miles from her car.

Authorities say evidence of the slaying was found in Fujita's home.

He's due back in court September 22 for a pre-trial conference.
