Accused Squatter Arrested On Cape Cod After Chase
YARMOUTH (CBS) - A fugitive wanted in Waltham and Yarmouth has been captured because of a very observant Deputy Police Chief.
Robert Silva is accused of breaking into homes, and essentially living in them. Over the weekend, the 50-year-old apparently broke into an ocean-front home.
The homeowner came to check on the house, and found Silva, who managed to escape.
On Monday, Deputy Chief Steve Xiarhos was checking on the neighborhood, and showing a WBZ crew the area, when he spotted a suspicious man getting into a minivan a block away. Xiarhos pulled alongside the vehicle, and then went to the corner to turn around. It was Silva and he took off leading police and the WBZ crew on a 5-mile chase.
Police finally cornered Silva in Dennis where he was arrested.
