Abraham On Toucher & Rich: Why Did No One Make The Hall Of Fame?
Wednesday the National Baseball Hall of Fame announced that no player on the Hall of Fame ballot had gotten enough votes to make it in this year. This was the first time since 1996 and only the second since 1971 that this has ever happened.
Peter Abraham joined Toucher & Rich to discuss why players like Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Sammy Sosa and Mike Piazza didn't get it.
"I voted for eight people, so it wasn't my fault," Abraham told the guys.
Was it just a situation where enough guys just didn't vote for anybody this year?
"When you get the Hall of Fame ballot on of the things it say is that you have to take in to account integrity and sportsmanship and all that kind of stuff. I think a lot of people looked at that and said well I can't vote for somebody who has been implicated in taking some sort of steroid."
Abraham also believes another problem could be the way that some older writers think that you can't vote a guy in the first time on the ballot because guys like Joe DiMaggio and Yogi Berra missed it their first times.
He also thinks that the different ways people view the Hall has something to do with the players that get voted in.
