About to Get Muggy...

Our pleasant weather lasts for a little while longer but very shortly humid air returns.  High pressure will provide us with nice dry air and ample sunshine after we burn off some low clouds early tomorrow then it will slide offshore and SSW winds will kick up for the weekend.  Highs will range into the 80s and the humidity will be very uncomfortable but the lack of forcing means very few showers or thunderstorms.  By Labor Day however, a coldfront will be creeping closer and will provide enough lift for more numerous showers and t-storms.

Tropics are heating up...Katia's track looks very ominous as she is expected to become a major hurricane early next week.  The most likely scenario is that she will curl  away from the East Coast...but some of the latest models runs show a westward shift in the forecast track.  There is also a new TD in the Gulf that will likely form into Tropical Storm Lee.  BIG flooding threat for the Gulf Coast.
