Widespread Outages In Mass. As Blizzard Bears Down
BOSTON (CBS) - The number of power outages climbed well into the hundreds of thousands overnight as the blizzard of 2013 beat up on Massachusetts.
As of 11:30 p.m., National Grid and NSTAR were reporting more than 315,000 customers without power in Massachusetts. NSTAR had 170,052 reported outages and National Grid had 146,241.
Those numbers were expected to increase as the storm continued to batter the area throughout the night.
WMECO and Unitil had not reported any outages.
