Aaron Hernandez Could Face Assault Charge For Jailhouse Fight
BOSTON (CBS) – Aaron Hernandez could face an assault charge for a jailhouse brawl with another inmate.
The fight happened last month inside the Bristol County House of Correction.
The Bristol County Sheriff finished his investigation Thursday and believes there is enough evidence for criminal charges. That decision will be up to a magistrate.
"We understand that an application for criminal complaint has been filed by the sheriff's department," a spokesman for the Bristol County District Attorney's office said in a statement. "We are looking into it. Due to the superior court judge's order, we won't have any further comment on it."
Hernandez remains locked up, charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of Odin Lloyd.
