Aaron Hernandez Celebrates 23rd Birthday By Welcoming Birth Of His Daughter
BOSTON (CBS) -- After a bye week to rest any nagging pain, it was curious that Aaron Hernandez was not in attendance at Tuesday's Patriots practice. The mystery ended quickly though, when the tight end's brother tweeted a photo of Hernandez holding his newborn daughter.
Making the day even more special for Hernandez was that Nov. 6 is actually his own birthday, and he turned 23 on Tuesday.
D.J. Hernandez, who's a graduate assistant for the University of Miami's football team, tweeted "Love u bro" with a picture of Aaron holding his newborn baby.
D.J. tweeted the baby's name is Avielle Janelle Hernandez.
Aaron Hernandez did not travel with the team to London for the Week 8 game against the Rams prior to the bye week. He had played the previous two weeks after missing several weeks with an ankle injury, and Sports Illustrated reported there were unconfirmed rumors prior to the London game about his girlfriend being pregnant, and that Hernandez may have flown to England if the baby was born before the game. The Patriots managed to win that game 45-7 without Hernandez.
