A Warm Up...
Did you see them? Well, you had to look closely but several communities actually saw their first snowflakes of the season this morning as warmer air aloft interacted with chilly surface air and chilly raindrops along with wet snowflakes resulted. The weak system will slide out of here for the afternoon and skies will brighten up with temps climbing into the lower and middle 50s. There will be zero weather issues at Fenway for Game 6 of the World Series...just chilly temps...falling into the 40s by the end of the game.
A large storm in the center of the US is taking shape and will travel to our west over the second half of the week. This will send a surge of very warm air up the coastline and temps will top out near 70 on Friday. Tomorrow will be the transition day as the warmth arrives on a stiffening southerly wind and a few showers may be around for the trick-or treaters in the evening.
By Friday morning, the front associated with the storm system will be sweeping through. Winds out ahead of it will be quite gusty...gusts to 40 mph perhaps...this will strip a lot of leaves from the trees by the weekend. Along with the wind rain will be plentiful...we are talking around a half an inch with some potential for over one inch if we get into any thunderstorms. Speaking of storms...there will be just enough instability along the front for a thin line of convection...gusty wind would be the biggest concern within any storms on Friday.
The storm will slowly pull away over the weekend and cooler air will bleed back in.
