A Taste of Spring...

I had the my first taste of Spring this evening...maple syrup...fresh out of the evaporator...good stuff!  I went to the Natick Community Organic Farm's sugar shack and watched them turn sap into syrup.  It's the first harvest of the growing season in Massachusetts and one of the tastiest too!  Tomorrow morning at the farm they are having a pancake breakfast followed by demonstrations all day...there will be live music and food too...worth checking out!

The weekend will be very Springlike although tomorrow morning will still be cool and there may be a very early rain or snow shower followed  by some sun peaking through and warmer temps...near 50.  The big weekend question is when and if the rain gets here.  Right now it appears that we will have to wait for the lift provided by the shortwave and the surface low Sunday night and Monday.  Northern New England will see better overrunning and thus precip will break out earlier in the day on Sunday.  There is concern with this next system as lots of snowmelt is anticipated this weekend with temps staying above freezing until Monday night.  It does appear that the heaviest rain will and precip will be north of us from this system but 1" or more of rain still looks very likely.  Time to start watching the rivers and streams especially to our north.

Have a good weekend all....
