A 'Normal' End to March

What I mean by 'normal' is that the high temperatures will be sticking around the 50F degree mark, which is about average as we end out the month of March.

Today will be gray and dreary and damp to start, but skies will gradually clear out later in the afternoon from west to east. Highs will be near 50F, except a few degrees cooler for the immediate coast/Cape/Islands where clouds stick around through the early evening hours.  Drier air will be working in, and skies will clear out tonight.  Lows will dip below freezing away from the coast so please bring in your potted plants or cover up the tender vegetation that you have already planted.

Friday will be a bright and sunshiny day with highs around 50F.  High and mid-level clouds will start to fill-in during the evening.

This weekend:  The track of a low that will be jetting out of the Great Lakes Region will need to be watched closely.  We are expected to be 'affected' by this system from ~midnight Friday night to ~12 noon on Saturday.  The NAM is the coldest solution depicting a 'snowier' set-up. This end result would be a slushy coating to an inch or two. On the flip side, the GFSx and the EURO have the system heading slightly farther south which would mean less of an impact. There'd be a light rain/mix for areas south of the Mass Pike. I feel that high pressure will most likely 'win out' and the latter solution will come to fruition as opposed to the NAM solution.  Saturday will include increasing sunshine during the afternoon.  Highs will be cooler in the 40s. With this progressive pattern, the best 24 hours of the weekend will occur from Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon.   Starting Sunday afternoon, clouds will take over once again with showers arriving by the evening.  Highs will be in the lower to middle 50s.

Models are trending towards a warmer solution with highs in the 60s on Tuesday and Wednesday before a cold front sweeps across New England Wednesday morning.

One Alarm Clock Away...
