A Few Thoughts From Dan Roche
BOSTON (CBS) - Just a few thoughts as we get set to hit Thanksgiving week...
--Amazing around here to watch the "roller coaster of emotions' from week to week around the Patriots. If they win, they are headed to a Super Bowl and Belichick is the great coach ever. If they lose, all we hear is that they can't draft, Belichick has lost his fastball, etc. Even keel simply doesn't exist.
--How come all the hate around Tim Tebow? Yes, he can look awful but his team is winning these games. Reminds me of when Doug Flutie played in the NFL. No one would create the offense solely around Doug. And, yes he could look bad, but he always gave his team a chance to win. Now, John Fox has devised his offense around Tebow in Denver and it's working. I hope he takes the Broncos all the way to the play-offs.
--Belated congrats to Tim Murphy, who is now the all-time winningest football coach in Harvard history and his kids won another Ivy League title. Awesome job with that program.
--Good luck to all the high school kids on Thanksgiving Day. Hope the coaches, players, cheerleaders, and band members have the best day of their lives, especially the seniors. Remember to enjoy every moment of it. I hope it's the beginning of many great lifetime memories.
--Nice to see the Bruins rebound, eh? Tyler Seguin is even better than anyone could have predicted coming into this season. He's quickly becoming one of those athletes that you have to watch every second because he's on the verge of doing something special.
--By the way, can our Boston sports teams (Red Sox and Bruins) begin the season with a "mulligan"...
--Nice to see Claude Julien getting all the credit he deserves....
--It's hard to not be confused by what the Sox are doing when it comes to a manager, but all that matters is that they find the right guy....
--BTW, it sounds like the Sox want Terry Francona of 8 years ago, but he's just not out there. Too bad Tito couldn't just take the year off and take over the Sox dugout again in 2013.
--I miss Doc Rivers and Friday night Celtic games....
--Looking forward to seeing more college hoop though....
--Would like to see John Danks in a Red Sox uniform....
--I think Ben-Jarvis Green-Ellis and Dexter McCluster could be huge factors Monday night....
--Great hire by the Revs in Jay Heaps. Was a great player, has tons of energy and passion, and will hopefully get the Revs loyal fan base excited again.....
--Happy Thanksgiving all.....
