A Few Flakes...

A 500mb trough is currently situated over New England, its associated surface low is being pulled back toward Maine, in the process, moisture is running into colder air in place across the region.  The result is rain changing to snow in Maine and New Hampshire.  We are on the fringe of the storm and a few flakes may be visible especially along the North Shore tonight.  The 500mb trough will be cutting off over us, consequently, surface lows will be dumb-belling around it depositing additional snow across the Northern New England mountains where some could pick up as much as a foot.  The end result for Southern New England will be intervals of clouds and sun and an occasional flurry floating through with below average temps.

I hope to see some of you at the Southern New England Weather Conference tomorrow!  Otherwise have a great weekend.
