A Dry Weekend...

After spending days in the rain and clouds Summer made a nice recovery today with a high of 81 degrees...6 degrees above what we normally see.  As Katia swirled offshore (closet point was about 250 miles from Nantucket) her counter-clockwise flow brough dry air down from the north and we finally achieved sunshine.  A bubble of high pressure is nosing in behind her and will establish itself just enough to keep our weekend rain-free.  Not too far to our south, remnants of Tropical Storm Lee will continue to produce scattered showers over the Mid-Atlantic...close to us but not close enough.  Winds will be off the water all weekend so highs will be near 70 at the coast and mid 70s inland...very pleasant.

On Monday, what ever is left of Lee...and it won't be much...will migrate north into Southern New England.  This will lead to a shower threat...just a few, not a washout.  That disturbance will shift off the coast Monday night and acting as a warmfront will allow for warmer air to work in for the middle of the week...high of 80 or better for Tuesday and Wednesday.  A coldfront will gradually work through late Wednesday and Thursday knocking temps into the 60s and Tropical System Maria out to sea for the end of next week.

Enjoy your weekend...
