The 2006 Caterpillar D5 XL Bulldozer was taken from a home that's under construction on Brook Street around 2 p.m.

A witness said the bulldozer was taken on a large flat-bed equipment trailer. Police said the trailer was being towed by a dark-colored (possibly green) tractor with unknown license plates.

"Several of the neighbors saw them loading it, but they don't think anything of it because it's not something typical that happens everyday, that somebody's gonna come in and steal a bulldozer," said Acting Chief James Trombetta of the Rehoboth Police Department.

Phil Ippolito runs the construction company that owns the yellow bulldozer (serial No. AGG02445), which is valued at around $85,000.

"I'm very upset, " Ippolito told CBS affiliate WPRI. "It's very upsetting. I'm losing days out of work because all I'm doing is trying to track this thing down."

Anyone with information is urged to contact Rehoboth police.
