787 Dreamliner Returns To Service In Boston
BOSTON (CBS) – Boeing's Dreamliner carried passengers into and out of Boston on Saturday for the first time since the fleet was grounded five months ago because of battery malfunctions.
One of those battery fires broke out on board a 787 at Logan Airport back in January.
The FAA has since approved Boeing's plans to correct the battery problems, and allowed flights to resume last month.
A Dreamliner flight from Tokyo landed a Logan just after 11 a.m., and one took off for Japan a short time later, officially resuming Japan Airlines' daily 787 flights between Boston and Tokyo.
