6-Alarm Condo Fire Shuts Down Route 20 In Marlborough
MARLBOROUGH (CBS) – Several streets were shut down in Marlborough Monday morning as a six-alarm fire tore through a condominium complex.
Police closed part of Route 20 after flames started shooting out of the top floor of the four-story Lake Williams condos at about 9:30 a.m.
Acting Fire Chief Jim Fortin says the fire likely started on the top floor in what is believed to be a storage area. He says battling the fire was not easy. "As we were trying to get it cut off, it kept jumping on us," he says.
