The public ice skating pond is located in the center of the city on Boston Common and offers affordable ice skate rentals. This activity is fun for adults and children alike and is also a great way to enjoy the holiday lights along Boston Common and the Boston Public Garden. This is also an awesome date night activity for every couple sick of watching Netflix marathons all winter long.
Cozy Bars And Restaurants
Too cold to spend time outside? Enjoy the warmth and soft light of Boston's best restaurants and bars. One of the town's coziest bars is 21st Amendment in Beacon Hill. Another great activity to avoid bad weather is to visit some of Boston's museums. Everybody knows that Boston is the city of champions! New Englanders take their professional sports teams very seriously, so there is no better place to catch a game than Boston. The Celtics and the Bruins play right in the city, so a great winter activity is to take the train into town, get dinner and then catch the game and cheer along with the locals. The Patriots play outside of Boston in a suburb called Foxboro. Though the stadium is a bit further away, Patriots fans are among the most spirited, so definitely try to make it out to Gillette while in town.
Snow
Embrace Boston weather to its fullest extent by spending time outside! Take a winter walk at the Arnold Arboretum in Jamaica Plain, or head out of town to go skiing at some of the nearby hills like Bradford Ski Area or Wachusett Mountain. Make a thermos of hot chocolate and try snowshoeing at the Weston Ski Track. Whatever your athletic level is, there is a great winter activity waiting for you in the Boston area.
