4 Charged In Seekonk Teen's Hit & Run Death
TAUNTON (AP) -- A Rhode Island woman and three of the victim's friends are out on bail after pleading not guilty to charges stemming from the hit-and-run death of a top student and star athlete from Seekonk High School.
Eighteen-year-old Jacob Mayo was struck on Dec. 17 on Interstate 195.
Twenty-year-old Katelynn Johnson of Warren, R.I. was arraigned Friday in Taunton District Court, charged with leaving the scene of an accident causing serious bodily injury.
WBZ-TV's Bill Shields reports.
Nathan Dias, Jason McInerney and Michael Poland, all 17 and all of Seekonk, faced charges including trespassing and throwing an object onto a state highway.
Authorities allege they and Mayo were throwing wood onto the highway, which Johnson struck, before striking Mayo standing in the right travel lane.
