4-Alarm Fire Damages 2 Triple Deckers In Gardner
GARDNER (CBS) - A four-alarm fire damaged a pair of triple-decker homes in Gardner early Monday morning.
Flames broke out in the basement of a house on Pleasant Street just before 4 a.m. and then spread to a second house.
Gardner Fire Chief Ron Therrien said everyone escaped safely and no one was hurt.
About 12 to 15 people live in the buildings, according to Therrien.
There's no word yet on a cause.
The home where the fire started is now "structurally unsound" Therrien said, but residents of the other house will likely be able to return to their apartments later this week.
