3 Hurt, 3 Wanted In Bedford Home Invasion
BEDFORD (CBS) - Three men were hurt in an armed home invasion in Bedford overnight.
Police say three men broke into a second floor apartment above a shop on North Road just after 2 a.m. Wednesday and attacked the men, shooting one of them in the leg.
The three suspects left and police are still looking for them.
The three injured men, all in their 20's, were taken to the hospital where officers interviewed them.
Their injuries are said to be "non-life-threatening."
Authorities say it was not a random attack and that at least one of the attackers knew the victims, possibly through a job.
"They were targeted, possibly for drugs and or a robbery," Police Chief Robert Bongiorno told reporters.
"This is an extremely safe community. This is highly unusual for the town of Bedford to have an incident like this. I want to stress that the community is safe."
Anyone with information is asked to call Bedford Police at 781-275-1212.
It's been more than ten years since there has been a shooting in Bedford, according to Bongiorno.
