3 Ex-Rivals On Walsh Transition Team In Boston
BOSTON (AP) — Boston Mayor-elect Martin Walsh's transition team will include three former mayoral candidates who endorsed him after the preliminary election in September.
Walsh, a state legislator from the Dorchester neighborhood, defeated City Councilor John Connolly on Tuesday in the race to succeed Mayor Thomas Menino, who is retiring after two decades in office.
Walsh announced Friday that he had named Charlotte Golar Richie, John Barros and City Councilor Felix Arroyo as co-chairs of the transition team. All three threw their support behind Walsh after finishing out of the running in the preliminary voting.
Other co-chairs include Sam Tyler, president of the Boston Municipal Research Bureau; Katherine Craven, head of the University of Massachusetts Building Authority; and Joyce Linehan, a public relations executive and chair of the Ward 17 Democratic Committee.
